Out and about from Pencarrow
A short walk down the hill will bring you to the centre of
Looe with the delights of the harbour, beach and shops.
Walking a little further will bring you to Hannafore and the
rocky shore. An area of delight for conservationists and
families keen to explore the rock pools. In 1995 a Voluntary
Marine Conservation Area was established by Caradon district
council to protect the rich diversity of Looe’s marine
environment -

In the other direction from Pencarrow are Kilminorth Woods a
Local Nature Reserve.
It is a beautiful ancient woodland site which runs adjacent
to the estuary of the West Looe River -

A walk on West Looe Downs will give
stunning views of Looe with a carpet of wild flowers to
entrance the eyes.
If you want to travel further then places such as The Eden Project and the
Lost Gardens of Heligan are within easy
reach. Not forgetting National Trust properties such as
Lanhydrock and Cotehele house and of course the delights of
Polperro and Fowey - more info.
